Loh Mee @ SeaView, originally uploaded by hanlian.

It's been awhile since i had 'loh mee'. Mostly because its either the soups is too diluted or its just not good. haha. :) But this one at the SeaView Restaurant at Paramount Garden in PJ was just nice. :) Plus with the vinegar,it was great. :D Love the taste of vinegar in such soup based dishes. ;) Yum, yum.

Yummy fried stuffs.

Fried Bittergourd & Ladyfingers, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Had indian food for dinner last night at Bangsar with Eugene after coming back from the Double Take press conference, well it was more like a small gathering of people who wanted to find out what was happening with Double Take. So this was a nice find, fried bitter gourds and fried ladyfingers [okras]. They also had fried brinjals [eggplant] which was a good find cause usually the banana leaf rice condiments are only papadams [crackers] and the fried bitter gourds. :)

Double Take's gonna have a concert soon.

Mia&Roger, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Yes,they are both Mia and Roger that make up Double Take are having a concert in December and i was given the opportunity to go for their press conference at Equatorial Hotel yesterday at 4pm. :) Thanks, Eugene for the opportunity. :) So keep your eyes on alldatJazz.com soon for an exclusive interview with Mia Palencia. :)

How inconsiderate.

Stupid Driver, originally uploaded by hanlian.

This driver is really just too much. Can you see how much his front section of his vehicle has crossed over to the other parking bay? Took this when i was on my way to visit Dax in the hospital. So ok,maybe you can say that he/she had an emergency so he/she had to park his/her car in such a manner. Fine,he/she better had been in an emergency else i'll give him/her a reason for an emergency to rush into the hospital. ;)

Ultimate.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.com Sony Ericsson W900i. Pictures courtesy of GSMArena. Oh crap,i just got news from GSMArena and MobileWhack about Sony Ericsson's latest launch for their walkman + mobile phone release, W900i. Sigh, not good! ;) And i thought i only have 3 models to choose from on my previous post. :( This is just almost like my current SE S700i. Only addition to the W900i is the walkman functions on the W800i, a 2Megapixel camera, and a VGA camera on the front for its 3G capability. 470MB worth of internal memory and expandable memory up to 2GB via the Memory Stick PRO Duo slot. Guess the question now is how much it'll cost when it arrives on Malaysian shores. Maybe i can get this by Christmas as my Christmas gift. haha. :P At least with this i won't be thinking about getting myself an iPOD. This definitely veto's the W800i because of its screen size. That was my only dislike about it. How to re-adjust myself to a smaller screen when i'm so used to my 320x240 screen on my SE S700i. :D

Visited a Ramadhan bazaar yet?

Ayam Golek Kelana Jaya, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Ok,so far...i've visited the SS14 Ramadhan bazaar and the Kelana Jaya one. I'm kinda leaving the famous Taman Tun one for last. :) I have to say that the SS14 one is a big let-down. I remember a few years back, there were some really good food stalls there but now...it's kinda small and nothing much actually. I had ayam percik and some rice from the SS14 one but it was bad! Really not good, maybe i went to the wrong stalls but it was not good at all.

But today's nasi lemak and ayam masak merah [chicken in red sauce] was really good. :) Saw this bunch of chickens rolling around above a charcoal fire. Interesting. ;) And i thought you can only find ayam percik. ;) Wonder what will the Taman Tun's Ramadhan bazaar bring. :) Guess my hopes of going on a little fast before the real feasting begins with Hari Raya, Deepavali and Christmas didn't really come true but oh well,at least i have good food to make me feel better..haha. :P Man,i seriously need to go back on my diet! ;)

Delicious!

SP&Roland's Cakes, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Well, what's a wedding without the feasting, right? ;) :P Didn't manage to take much photos of the food cause i was just too distracted by tasting almost everything on the table. ;) :P Fried chicken, fried wonton, fried popiahs, noodles and these super mouth-watering delicous cake. :D All made by Beow Lynn who owns a restaurant/bakery in Rawang...will try to take more photos of her place soon, when i go visit her again. :) All in all,one of the few weddings which i actually did have a good time and enjoyed myself. :) Now if Hari Raya would swing by faster then can continue on with the feasting..haha. :P

My view of the wedding.

SP&Roland's Wedding, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Sat at the PA area with Christina and James. Lovely view of the whole wedding. :) This is actually a very nice place to get married in, i think. :D Too bad it can only accommodate about 100+ people. But i guess weddings should be too big...beginning to enjoy smaller weddings more cause then you can actually enjoy yourself. :)

Siew Peng & Roland's Bug.

SP&Roland's Wedding Car, originally uploaded by hanlian.

So Saturday finally arrived and early in the morning i attended Siew Peng and Roland's wedding at St. Andrew's Church on Jalan Raja Chulan. Had the great previlege to play for them during their wedding. :) So this was quite interesting. :) Usually people would love to use Mercedes or some sports car as their wedding car but this VW bug works just nice for them. :) Quite cute actually. :D

Busy Friday.

Cotton Club, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Thought i could rest on Friday but i ended going to 2 jazz gigs in town. :) First one at the 4 months old Cotton Club at Maju Junction to catch Joe 'Fingers' Webster perform for the first time in Malaysia. Then went over to Avanti's in Sunway to check out Gyro featuring Gina. So in one night, i had extra dosage of jazz, one of old school jazz and the other fusion jazz. :)

My condolences to the Prime Minister and his family.

Thursday, October 20, 2005

Just read of news that the Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's wife, Datin Seri Endon Mahmood has passed away this morning. News of this could be read from The Star and from a few local bloggers, PetalingStreet.Org. My deepest condolences goes to the Prime Minister and his family at this trying times. May God's grace and mercy be upon you and give you strength to pass this times.

Another chocolate bar from another country.

Mr Goodbar, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Yes,if you remember i posted a chocolate influenced post recently about Oja's trip to London and bringing back some nice chocolate snacks. Haven't even touch a single piece of them cause i've been busy with stuffs to finish and now i'm down with flu, slight fever, cough and sore-throat. Well,so much for wanting to taste them slowly.

Now, i got another bar of chocolate to add to my fridge courtesy of the Queen of the World who recently went over to San Francisco for a shoot. Lent to her my Sony P-8 to take some photos of her own so this is what i got in return. haha. ;) Nah,this isn't my pay-off for lending her my camera...this is my souvenir from her. :) Such a wonderful girl, ain't she? ;) :P

Haven't seen this for awhile.

Sesame Duck, originally uploaded by hanlian.

It's been awhile since i had duck. :) This was quite an interesting find. ;) Sesame duck or any duck for that matter. :) I still remember last time when i was still in primary school...every Sunday without fail,we'll be having duck for dinner. ;) Maybe that's why i don't really fancy having it cause i had too much of it last time. haha. :P Oh by the way,the duck isn't sick or whatever. ;) That's just alot of sesame seed on the duck. ;)

*Slurp*

Yong Tau Foo, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Doesn't this look mouth-watering? ;) :P Definitely one of the few restaurants around which i've tried and are worth another visit. :) The other 2 yong tau foo restaurants in town which i think is good is one in Old Town's Food court, next to the market called Seng Kee i think and the other is a stall in a corner restaurant which is next to a Shell station and a motorcycle repair shop in SS3. :) Delicious yummy tofu [bean curd] which is smooth and just wonderful with its fish paste. :) So many stuffs on the plate. :) Chilli, fish ball, tofu, spring roll, ladyfingers [okras].

Sui Kow dumplings?

Yong Tau Foo_SuiKow, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Hmmmm, delicious! ;) haha...one of the few yong tau foo restaurants in town which i've tried and is worth coming back for a second visit. :) Yummy fried sui kow dumplings.

Yong Tau Foo?

Foong Foong YongTauFoo, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Went to lunch with Joshua, Jeff, Thomas, BK and Enda near Jeff's workshop. :) I think this place is more packed than the Ampang Homeland Yong Tau Foo that's just 2 doors away. :) First ever restaurant where you place your order at the counter and the person at the counter will speak into his microphone and annouce the order to the kitchen which is situated on the side of the restaurant. It seems to work for them cause they've been around since forever it seems. :D

Wanna keep your produce fresh longer?

Humitech, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Went to Jeff's place again with Joshua today but had to make a pit-stop at one of his client's place. And i got to see how products in action. ;) Wondering what the heck is white with holes cardboard like item? Check out Humitech and find out..really interesting stuffs. :) Really interesting stuffs about sorbite and how it helps to make stuffs in your fridge last 50% to 100% longer.

High Wired at Avanti.

High Wired_1, originally uploaded by hanlian.

L-R : Wilfredo "Rahmat" on piano, Jordan Rivers on electric guitar, Steve Nanda on drums, David Yee on bass and the great Eddy Kismilardy on sax with a little percussion.

Was at Avanti again last night for High Wired with my current 'boss', Eugene and Marc. It was wonderful! ;) Look out for the review at alldatJazz.com. A definitely much better band compared to when they were playing at Sunrise's Jazz Fest this year. Friendly bunch of musicians having fun while entertaining us with good music. :)

Chewy lamb chop.

Thursday, October 13, 2005

Lamb Chop, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Now this lamb chop...isn't really that good, well its chewy and abit too under-cooked for my liking, medium-rare. Notice they added garlic to it...not too bad but just too chewy for me. :D But overall...after 2 lambs, 3 beefs, fish, sausages, turkey ham, chicken, chicken liver and gizzard...plus the other side-dishes...i'm quite happy. :D Full, bloated and maybe contemplating on going on a full non-meat diet for 2 weeks. ;) Or maybe not. haha. :P So meat-lovers, carnivores, visit Carnaval Churrascaria to satisfy your meat cravings. :) Meanwhile,i think i should really go on a no meat diet to clear my system of overdose. ;) :P

Most delicious lamb.

Lamb Part, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Yes,definitely the most delicious lamb i've ever tasted so far. :) A little crunchy, full of flavour and not chewy! We were waiting for this to come out again and i think the people there were quite annoyed by it cause everything they bring something out,we'll be asking..'is it lamb?' haha. :P

Fish kebab?

Fish, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Ok,abit the blur this photo but definitely delicious. :) Doesn't have the erm...fishy smell? Anyways, its good lar. :) Yummy and you don't need any tartar sauce. :)

Another non-meat item.

Pineapple, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Wanna take a stab at what this food item might be? :D Its pineapple. made in the manner of the other meat items, kebab style. Really delicious, helps to prepare you for more meat. haha. ;)

At last,some non-meat items. :)

Brinjal&Potato, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Ok,just so you know...they do serve non-meat items. :) They have a respectable salad bar and some other local items, such as these here...brinjal [eggplant] and potato wedges. :) Yummy as the rest of the stuffs we've already had so far. :) Well,honestly...i'm not really that interested with their salad bar and their side dishes. I'm there just for the meat..so bring more! :P

Ribs for taste?

Ribs, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Ok,so this might not look that appetising but trust me...it's not that bad. :D Quite delicious. Not that chewy and full of flavour. :) So far, we've had 3 types of beef, sausages, turkey ham and chicken. :)

Moo... ;)

Beef, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Yes, beef...honestly speaking..can give the beef a miss lar...well,thats my opinion lar. :) 2 different types of cooking methods here, both are quite interesting but nothing to really shout about lar. :) So can try. :) If only we had some red wine to go with the beef. :P Nah,maybe not. :D

Meat-lovers haven.

Beef,Sausage,TurkeyHam&Chicken, originally uploaded by hanlian.

In view of Annie & Gabrianne's departure this weekend, Nelson, Yvonne and i took them to Carnaval Churrascaria at Damansara Jaya near the Atria shopping mall. This place is a must for meat-lovers. ;) Serious! For about RM50 per person...you get all the meat you want...all you can eat!

So here i started off with some beef, sausages, turkey ham and chicken. Lovely delicious chicken. really wonderfully done. :) The turkey ham as well...and the sausages, tasty! If you like Euro-Deli's sausages, you'll love this place. :) Worth every penny you pay. :)

Cutesy going to Dubai.

Gabrianne, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Gabrianne and Annie will be heading to Dubai to join Justin this Sunday for a period of time...sigh,gonna miss them. ;) I remember I used to hang out with Annie before she got married. :) Went to the then Bonton for desserts with erm..dunno who already. haha. :) Now,she's married with a kid and moving to Dubai for awhile. :) Wonder what kind of accent Gabrianne will pick up. haha. :P

Bored? Try these... :)

Hmmm, got a little bored so went around the web looking for free online games to play.. :D so check these few that i think is fun to play. ;) Ok,so this is kinda like a posting you might find at Kahsoon.com but i'm just bored and thought i might wanna share this with my friends. :) So enjoy enjoy. :) If you're interested...you can check out Addicting Games, good selection of online free games other than your usual Yahoo Games and all. :D 1. Spank The Monkey. Ok,so the name of the game is abit erm...hahaha..dual meaning but it's really good for relieving stress. :P My highest is 369 miles per hour. :D 2. Ant City. Though the game does not involve any ants...it's another good game to relieving stress. :D 3. Star Dance. Online dancing game which is quite easy to master. :D This one can be abit 'interesting'. ;) i have a feeling the guys might like this for a different reason..hahaha.. :P

My lunch for today.

1901 - Minnesota Twins HotDog, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Got this from the 1901 outlet in LowYat Plaza. Was there to get my new toy, a Wacom Graphire4 Tablet. Ok,so it doesn't look that nice but its oklar...maybe i just got it from the wrong outlet. ;) But i can assure you that their hotdogs are pretty good and reasonably priced if you find the right outlet. ;)

My new toy. :)

Wacom Graphire4, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Finally,i got around to buy myself a pen tablet. :) This will definitely help with my photoshop and illustrator and other graphic work. :D Was actually a good thing to have waited til now to buy it cause Wacom just released the Graphire4 to replace the Graphire3 pen tablet model. :) Got this 4"x6" - A6 size model for RM340...wanted to get the 6"x8" - A5 size but that would cost about RM600+ thats bundled with softwares that i don't need. Sigh, what a big con job. Anyways,it would have been really good if i could afford the Intous3 A4 size pen tablet that only cost like RM1,700+. :) Anybody wanna sponsor me? haha..oh well, not a super duper good graphic artist anyway...so i pretty content with this new toy. :)

Bored to this point!

Sunday, October 09, 2005

Yeah,i wonder why i did this. ;) Pathetic? I guess so. :P Anybody care to explain to me whats the meaning of sticky fingers? :) hahaha,i can't help by to laugh at what kind of seducer they say i am. :P Like i said..i'm just bored right now cause i can't fall asleep yet. ;) *note : all these quizzes does NOT reflect who i really am....well,some maybe but not all of them and i guess i won't mind if anybody wanna comment about any of them. :) So just to clarify these quizzes was done just to have a little bit of fun. :D Yes,pretty pathetic i know..guess it's time to hit the sack. ;)

What a dilemma!

Photos courtesy of GSMArena. The time has come again for me to change my mobile phone. :D As history serves me right, mobile phones that i own usually never stay with me for more than a year. :) I got this SE s700i in February just before Chinese New Year this year. But now i'm caught in a delimma because i'm become very much acustom to the large 240x320 screen. No other mobile phone currently on the market that has such a large screen and still keep to its relatively small shape. :) But after visiting the Sony Expo at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and seeing the SE w800i plus seeing online from various websites, i'm favouring it quite alot even though the screen is only at 176x220 but the camera is 2megapixel compared to my current 1.3megapixel mobile phone camera. Loads of other wonderful features but my only qualm is that the screen is small. Hence the reason i'm also looking at Motorola's V3x aka v1150. It's not out in the market yet even though the release date was set for the first quarter of this year. The screen is the same size as my SE s700i but has better features such as a 2megapixel camera and it looks like the Motorola RAZR V3 BLK, Special Edition. Guess if i can't get the Motorola, i'll just fly over to the States to get the SE s700a which is the same as my SE s700i but it is black and it has EDGE [Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution, a radio technology that can give up to three times faster communication rates than GPRS - General Packet Radio Services, a communications standard enabling packet data transfer similar to Internet - 28.8 kbps - 58.6 kbps.]. :D Ok,so its a wee bit to much technical information...bottom line,i can't decide which mobile phone to change to. ;)

The man behind the delicous bbq chicken of Jalan Imbi.

Jalan Imbi BBQ Chicken Man, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Here's the man behind the delicous and yummy bbq chicken of Jalan Imbi. Went to the new Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre with Dax and Evelyn for the Sony Expo. Tons of new Sony hardware and a preview of the Sony PSP. Yeah,i know its been out awhile but somehow they are still keeping to the hype as though it's still new...well,its relatively new. :) Anyways, back to the mouth-watering bbq chicken drumstick which i had for diiner. :) I think the man is beginning to recognize me since i've been visiting his stall quite frequently. :D Super skillful, guess it's normal when you've been doing the same thing over and over again for years and years. :)

And dinner time came around. :)

Delicious claypot chicken cooked with wine sauce. :) Thanks to Nelson who introduced us to this restaurant near church in Subang Mewah. The picture isn't blur, it's just because the dish was still piping hot when i took the photo. :) It was delicious but i was kinda hoping that they had used more wine. ;) :P

Petronas Twin Tower replica found in USJ1.

KLCC Twin Towers in USJ1, originally uploaded by hanlian.

I don't think i should say anything about this but i'm just curious as to who is the owner of this house. He somehow managed to get permission from MPSJ to build this replica that is quite a huge structure and its an intermediate house not even a corner house. I wonder if his neighbours complain about it. :D Interesting item to have in front of your house. :)

Fattening to the ultimate.

Man,this dish should be banned. haha. :P Vinegar pork knuckles. ;) Loads of fat and little amount of meat but the best combination to go while having bak kut teh.

Yummy Bak Kut Teh.

BKT @ Pandan Indah, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Had Bak Kut Teh for lunch today at Pandan Indah with Joshua, Jeffery, Thomas, BK, and Eda. Fattening and well, haven't had this for quite a while so i guess a little indulgence won't really hurt. haha. :P Had a wonderful time learning about how to make guitars again today and a News Straits Times [NST] came after lunch to do an interview with Jeffery and somehow interviewed me as well...wasn't really related lar cause i'm not Jeffery's student but dunno what will he write about lar. :) So check out a href="http://www.nst.com.my/" target="_blank">News Straits Times [NST]'s next sunday edition or maybe the sunday after next for the artical about Malaysia's only luthier. :)

Pepperoni Pizza - Alexis, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Yes,wonderful, delicious mouth-watering pepperoni pizza. :D Just got back from Alexis Bistro in Great Eastern Mall, Jalan Ampang for Angelita Li's second last gig. If you have not heard her sing...tonight's gig starting at 10.30pm will be your last chance to catch her this round. Definitely worth your time. :) Even if you don't know how good she is...her musicians will definitely catch your ears. :) Michael Veerapen on keyboards, Greg Lyons on saxophone, Andy Peterson on bass, and Lewis Pragasam on drums. An All-Star Malaysian musicians according to Eugene of alldatJazz.com. Was there with Marc. Wonderful evening with great music! ;) Catch the review that's coming soon at alldatJazz.com.

Nasi Lemak from O&S, originally uploaded by hanlian.

Yes,more nasi lemak and this time, it's from a stall located at Paramount's O&S Restaurant. Only opens in the evening til late i guess. Nyonya lady with a pretty daughter..well,might be just the helper but she sure is pretty..haha. ;) :P Anyways, back to the nasi lemak. ;)

Delicious...great sambal ikan bilis[anchovies] but this round i opted for the ayam masak sambal's sauce. I know it might look abit disgusting but when u mix them all up, the kangkung, brinjal[eggplant], egg, kacang[peanuts], ikan bilis[anchovies] and the fried chicken drumstick...it's all good! ;) Had this while watching Batman Begins with Nelson and Yvonne at Nelson's place just now. Good combination. haha. ;) Malaysia's version of tv dinners. :)
