Day trip to a waterfall.
As I was saying, was suppose to go camping during the New Year holidays but didn't manage to cause it was raining almost everyday during the evening time and I don't want to be camping in the rain even though that would be really fun. :P Not really a good idea actually cause we were going to camp near a waterfall. :) So in the end, a few of us went to this water that Dax and Evelyn found on Waterfalls of Malaysia website in Pahang which tested Dax's new 4x4. ;) The place was really beautiful! The best thing was that it was quite secluded, so not many people are there except a bunch of malay guys who were camping and fishing there. :)
But how can you start a day without breakfast, right? :P So we bought some food to bring for the little day trip/picnic. Thanks to Nelson and Yvonne, I had a nice egg-tart for breakfast while I packed some nasi lemak from the SeaPark market for lunch. :) Plus, loads of junk food. :D
Took us about 1 hour to get there, the ride in was pretty fun cause it was a little off-road. :D Now I really wanna get me one of them 4x4s to play with. hahaha. :D Gotta max it out with off-road stuffs, so that I can go off-road and also scare some of them rude drivers on the road. :P haha..Wait,that'll make me one rude driver too.. ;)
Anyways, don't the waterfall look beautiful? :D It was raining when we were on the way and when we got there it turned into a drizzle so we had to wait it out.
According to the malay guys that were already there the night before, it was raining since yesterday afternoon and the waterline actually reach the orange line. Phew, thank goodness we decided to make the trip a day trip instead of a camping trip. :) Wouldn't have been that fun...especially for Dax's 4x4. :D
So Dax and Nelson made a little tent for us to sit around and wait til the rain stops. Yvonne couldn't wait so she just jumped in. haha. :) Actually, the water wasn't that cold but I was just kinda worried when I get out, that's when it gets cold. :P
I didn't know that you can actually catch fish right next to a waterfall. :) Very interesting...the malay guys were really enjoying themselves. :D Definitely need to go back there for a overnight stay or something. :)
And our wait wasn't wasted. :D The rain stopped. :) Super happy when it did. haha. :P Doesn't this section of the jungle look like something out of the TV series 'Lost'? ;)
Thank God for the sun! hahaha. :) Couldn't wait to just jump in. :P It seems that there's another 2 levels of waterfall further in but the road into it is much more rougher than the section leading to this waterfall.
Haha...how can you not use an umbrella at a waterfall? ;) It can get wet, so when you're at a waterfall...always use an umbrella. haha. :P
So Nelson broke the umbrella and now he tries to use it as a float. :D There goes Dax's new umbrella. haha. :P
Ahhh,so serene...so lovely. :) Oh, the locals don't have a name for this waterfall, so the guys at Waterfalls of Malaysia.com named it Lata Khong after the founder of the website.
Here's a look for the river going downstream with the waterfall behind you.
Kinda hit a little snag when we wanted to leave. Dax's 4x4 stock tyres wasn't goood enough to handle the little wetness on the ground after the rain so while he couldn't get his 4x4 up this little steep hill. Had to call in some reinforcements...a 4x4 'kaki' to come and help. Really thank God for him. :) His truck was super-maxed out for offroading, powerful engine, tyres, snorkel, and all the stuffs.
So while we were waiting for the calvary to come and save us. Nelson and I made some dams. :P Quite a good job, don't you think so? :P
Ok, ok...so it isn't that impressive but hey, we had quite little to work with,ok. :P Next time...next time, we'll do better. :D
An hour later, our rescue came. :) Look at the size of those monster tyres compared to Dax's stock tyres. :D Now,those are the type of tyres we need. :P It took him a minute or so to pull us up the hill. Man,he's a really good friend. Willing to travel an hour to get to us and help us out. :) Then again, he's a 4x4 'kaki' so I guess he's into stuffs like this. :D What a trip, can't wait for the next one. :D
